Feeling lost

Haven't blogged or been actively on programme. Feeling a bit lost with all sorts of things going on in the family. It has left me feeling inadequate and insecure and some soul searching. I know I will work it out eventually but it's like being lost in thick fog at the moment and I'm trying to find my way home.
Still cooking good natural food. Had a dark kit kat yesteday and I enjoyed it soooooo much.
Exercising is non existant apart from walking, cleaning, moving furniture from 1 room to another and gardening.
Once I get things sorted in my head I'll bounce back and be back on track.

Day 9 Still not 100%

Feeling even more bunged up than yesterday. Had a lie in as didn't sleep too well last night. Had a hot lemon and green tea. Later had a Benecol drink. Lunch was poached egg and grilled tomato on oatmeal toast. Green tea and later peppermint tea. Am finding hot drinks soothing so have lots of herbal /fruit teas. Tap water is not soothing my throat at all.
Went for my first hypnosis/NLP session this afternoon to sort out my anger management. It was very emotional and I feel drained but am so pleased that I am doing something to be a calmer, happier me.
Came home to finish ironing which I quite enjoy. Dinner was yesterday's left over pork loin chop in onion, mushroom and garlic sauce, fresh carrots and potatoes and- steamed. Stir fried pak choi, garlic and mixed peppers. Camomile tea. Have only drunk 1L water. Haven't done any exercise but I am listening to my body.
Thanks everyone for your warm wishes for a speedy recovery and all your feedback.
X

Day 8 Not feeling 100%

Didn't sleep very well last night. Feel lethargic so didn't do my walking. Had Dorset ceral for breakfast and green tea. Trying to get on top of the washing, ironing, cleaning, shopping after spending days in London.
This afternoon son and I went to fetch dry cleaning and then to the farm shopto buy locally grown fruit and veg. Felt drained when I got back home. Made lunch - ham, cheese, tomato and coleslaw sandwich (oatmeal bread), lettuce and cucumber. Water and green tea.
Dozed off on the settee when having a rest listening to the mp3! Read the Sunday Times and watched TV.
Made dinner - Pork loin chop in onion, ginger and mushroom sauce with boiled potatoes. Cabbage and a type of lime green broccoli/ cauliflower thing. Fresh local strawberries.
Have drunk my 2L water. Hope I feel more enrgetic tomorrow so I can do some exercises.

Sat. Day 6 & Sun Day 7

Didn't blog yesterday as out all day. Breakfast was cereal and toast yesterday. Drank 2L water during the day. Had burger at Great Burger Kitchen after visiting St Paul'smcathedral. 257 steps up to the Whispering Gallery. Up another 150 steps on the spiral staircase and then up some stone steps to the top!! What fantastic views from there. Awesome. Then down all those steps and to the nearest place for lunch before my teenagers and their friend ate me or my hubby.
We walked to the Globe theatre, the Clink prison and up to Brick lane where we browsed Vintage clothes. Then to Liverpool st station for train home. We saw that Inception the movie was on at Bishop's Stortford so we all went to see it.
Then home to talk about all the things we done and seen.
This morning I had a yoghurt and oatmeal toast for breakfast. Went for a walk. Lunch was roast pork with all the trimmings and a dessert, gin & tonic and a glass of red wine. Have drunk almost all of 2L of water. Taken daughter's friend to the railway station. Going to sit in front of the Tv where the family are to sort out what everyone is doing next week, where and with whom, so that I can plan my gym visits etc.

Day 5

Just back from my walk. Have listened to the mp3 first thing this morning. Drank hot water with lemon juice and a Benecol. About to cook poached egg on wholemeal toast and grilled tomatoes. Will have green tea.
Taking daughter, son and his girlfriend into London. Doing school shoes shopping for daughter first . Then to King's Cross to pick up her friend from train. Then GALLERIES!!! Yee ha can't wait. I am sooooo excited. I must be the luckiest mum to have kids who love going to galleries. They're even bringing friends to share the experience!! I will be walking around with 4 teenagers around the V&A, National potrait gallery and the Royal Academy.
I will make good food choices and the walking around will be my exercise. Tomorrow I hubby is joining us on a trip to St. Paul's cathedral. We are walking up the steps to the Whispering Gallery where I have wanted to go for years. Hubby has booked a tour of the Tower of London. May go on a boat trip on the Thames (depending on the weather).

Day 4 Keeping positive

Didn't go into London as daughter not well. Organised pick up of hubby's car from Cambridge to Hertford as he had put diesel in his petrol powered car.
Did the dreary chores and cooked chicken breasts iin bulk to stock upfreezer.
Lunch was local bacon and home grown tomato - grilled. Wholemeal toast and poached egg. Ginseng tea and water.
Wentto gym for Zumba but arrived too late. Body balance class was full so I did 20 mins interval training and then an Aqua aerobics class. Using the gloves for resistance and the foam "dumb bells" was hard work. Relaxed in the sauna & steam room.
Dinner was chicken breast cooked in onion, garlic, ginger and tomatoes. Steamed new potatoes, cabbage, carrots and cauliflower. Had a glass of red wine and a mug of camomile tea before bed.
Have eaten every meal slowly. Eaten only when hungry. Walked 30 mins. Listened to R&T mp3. Drank 2L water. Exercised and ate natural foods. Didn't I do well? Big pat on the back.
Not going into London today either as daughter still not 100% well. Decided to go tomorrow and spend most of the weekend in London.
Breakfast today was porridge and green tea. Listened to the mp3. Lunch will be salad. Dinner will be chicken beast cooked in stock and home grown herbs with whatever veg I buy from local farm shop.
Hoping to go on the wii today to do some yoga and balance workouts.

Day 3

Didn't get chance to blog yesterday as I went into London on the train and didn't return until 7.30pm. Yesterday I had yoghurt for breakfast and a banana. Took water with me to drink on the train. Had 2 cups of Aveda tea as I got my hair cut. Re filled my water bottle and walked to meet hubby for lunch. This was at VTAO in Wardour St where we ate brown rice, noodles and an array of vegetarian dishes.
Did some shopping and popped into the Natioal gallery for half an hour. Sat and people watched at Trafalgar Square. More window shopping in Seven Dials and then train to Bishop's Stortford. Went to the gym for 1st time since back from holiday on 18th July!!!
Came home in time for the last of the 8 Online sessions. Ate an apple and 1oz of almonds and walnuts mix whilst online.
Had a call from my hubby in Cambridge to say he'd put diesel in his petrol car!!1 So I didn't get chance to give feed back to Pete as I dashed to pick up hubby. Then it was a mad dash to Stevenage to pick up daughter who was on a train back from Yorkshire. When I got home I was absolutely shattered. Had a mug of camomile tea whilst watching the 10 o'clock news and realised I hadn't eaten dinner. In fact I hadn't been hungry and hadn't thought of food.
This morning I had lemon with hot water and drank a Benecol yoghurt. I ate Dorset cereal with semi skimmed milk and it took so long to eat!! Have had green tea. Have chores to do around the house and then going into London with daughter to see the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy. Staying overnight in London. Tomorrow we are going to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the Grace Kelly Exhibition. Also the BP portraits at the National Potrait Gallery.

Re Start Day 1

I paused the programme after coming back from holiday. I had friends coming to stay for 5 days just 2 days after I came home from Portugal. I got stressed out with all the after holiday clearing up e.g unpacking, washing, ironing, food shopping, cooking etc AND having everything ready for 4 people to come and stay.
Well here I am re starting on day 1. I've decided to get to grips with each tool. Eating slowly is still not ingrained as a habit so I am focussing on that today and will continue with the tool until it is a habit. Then I will go on to use Tools 1 & 2 together for a few days. Eating only when hungry is something I practice already. But it will be good to focus on it for 2-3 days.
I am losing weight slowly. I am fitter and healthier than I was in March when I started this programme. I have controlled my eating habits in terms of not comfort eating or eating biscuits when having cups of tea and coffee. In fact I hardly ever drink coffee now and have drunk herbal/fruit teas for at least 6 years.
I am feeling so much better about myself now compared to how I felt back in March. I like the way my body is shaping up.
So WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE? I want to get my BMI to 24. At the moment I have a BMI of 27.6.
I know I have come a long way already. I bought some fantastic size 12 jeans before my holidays and I feel so good in them. The size 14 clothes have all gone to charity shops.
Off for my daily walk. Wish me luck on my road to a lower BMI. Will keep you informed of my progress when I have my next Nutritional update at the end of the month.

Still on holiday

I'm still on holiday in Portugal and having a relaxing time with hubby and kids. Most days we have been to the beach and played around in the sea and on the sand. It's such hard work walking and running on the sand!
Have eaten fruit and yoghurt most mornings OR boiled eggs and toast. Lunches have been deliicious salads, sometimes with grilled local fish or grilled chicken. Last nights dinner was prawn, avocado and rocket salad (starter). Followed by grilled marinaded monkfish steak, stir fried vegetables and sauted potatoes. Cherries and strawberries with a chocolate mousse. 2 small glasses of rose wine. Had drunk 3 L of water by the time I went to bed.
This morning hubby and I had the personal trainer again. Did some interval training and vibro plate. Had yoghurt with cereal for breakfast. Water melon and banana for lunch. Just not very hungry today. Wonder if its because its too hot? Had a small coffee at the airport when we picked up daughter's friend and of course lots of water being drunk through out the day.
We are having a BBQ tonight. Home made beef burgers, turkey kebabs, lamb steaks (marinaded in mint, rosemary and local dried herbs). We were in a tiny local shop this morning and bought lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, basil, carrots, mozzarella, local cheese, herbs and meats. Even managed to get charcoal & matches.
Off to the pool to play frisbee and try to have a swim.
Have paused my programme whilst on hols and will re start when I return next Sunday.

Keeping up with the programme

I am on holiday in Portugal with hubby, son, his girlfriend and daughter. Have managed to eat most meals slowly and have drunk at least 2L water daily. Have played in the pool and the sea for at least 30 mins. Have also walked up and down the beach to get to the loo or get a cool drink. £0 mins each way!
I have eaten what I wanted at each meal and they have been good food choices eg fruit & yoghurt for brakfast or crunchy oats with soya milk. The fresh salads are fantastic as are the fruits. Water melon, peach, plums, fresh figs and cherries have been the desserts. Having cut down on the alcohol over several months, I haven't wanted to have wine with meals.
Had 1 caprinha on the beach on Mon. Yesterday hubby's 2 brothers and their wives came to visit us. Had herbal tea whilst they had coffee. I was happy to have water whilst they started on beers and rose wine. I had a glass of cava before lunch. A Thai salad for lunch with a glass of wine. Last night I had a gin and tonic with a salad.
This morning I walked 30 mins to a lovely patiserie. Had a mug of herbal tea and a local pastry (pastel de Nata) and a glass of water. Walked back to villa. Played with the teenagers in the pool.
Lunch was Califonia salad and water. An apple and cherries. Had a personal trainer who had me working on the vibro plate for 30 minutes including some massage. Did 15 mins on rower - interval training and 15 mins on treadmill - interval training.
Went to the local shop to buy fresh pork chops which I've marinated in mixed peppercorns and fresh herbs. New potatoes have been boiled as well as asparagus, French beans and broccoli.
Off to the shower and then watching football with family, then grill the chops and heat the blanched veg. Voila!!
Personal trainer booked every other day until Sat 17th. Back home on Sunday.
Loved the love online yesterday. Went off to supper straight after and haven't had chance to give feed back. Sorry Pete.
What is my motivation? Feeling great after exercising. Toning up. Losing inches. I am actually looking at my reflection in the mirror instead of avoiding looking at my whole self. Usually I only look in the small mirror above the wash hand basin.
I have been singing "I feel alive, I feel alive"
Hope all of you are having as lovely a time with your loved ones as I am. Sending you all big hugs

Day 7

Didn't get to listen to the mp3 this morning as gardner came to work early. I'm hopeless at gardening so we work together. That way i learn to look after my garden. Had a hot lemon before weeding. Stopped gardening to make brunch of grilled bacon, tomatoes and poached egg. Was still hungry so ate slice of wholemeal toast, butter and marmalade. Green tea and water. Almost 2 L drunk. Had a banana for a snack. Went out with daughter to buy fabric for her fancy dress.
Dinner tonight was mish mash of stuff hat needs to be used up. Half portion of cod in bread crumbs, half a steak, cauliflower, broccoli, French beans and baby broad beans.
Then my first live online with Pete.
Haven't been to the gym for a few days and miss it. Off to listen to the mp3 now and then sleep. Plan is to go to gym tomorrow morning. Will do my interval training and resistance training.

Day 6

Overslept today. Late night on Saturday and Sunday had caught up with me. Had an appointment at the gym for my "MOT". I wasn't to eat anything or have alcohol or caffeine for 12 hours before the test. Went off without breakfast and sipped water. Had my height, weight, blood pressure, cholestrol and waist:hip ratio measured. Alls well except waist:hip ratio. I have lost some cms off my hips and not much off my waist so the ratio looks worst than before. As we all know holding fat around the middle(apple shape) is far worst than holding it around your hips (pear shape). So I am going to try and go to more abs classes and work on whittling away my waist. The full report hasn't been printed by the gym yet as the heart rate monitor was not working and so not all the tests have been completed. I have to go back later in the week to finish the test.
Had a ginseng tea and banana for breakfast after the "MOT". Snack was an Activia yoghurt. Went into London to drop off daughter's freind at St Pancras and I had a spinach quiche at "PAUL". Can't remember the last time I had quiche. Drank 2 L of water whilst walking around Oxford St. and Regent Street. Had a bitter chocolate ice cream at Carluccio's. Dinner was at Nando's - 1/2 chicken spicy hot, mixed salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, shared the colslaw. So I have wobbled today - big time- however, back on track tomorrow and today will be history.
On the positive side, haven't had any alcohol, caffeine, biscuits or cakes.
Looking forward to a new day and live online tomorow night. Good night all

Day 5

Didn't get chance to blog yesterday. Breakfast was 1 grilled sausage,1 rasher grilled bacon, poached egg, grilled tomato, mushrooms and baked beans. Took banana, apple, nuts and seeds for snacks on the way to the ball.
Had a couple of glasses of champagne at the ball and 2 glasses of red wine. Drank loads of water yesterday. Dinner last night was cold Borscht soup, chicken breast stuffed with red peppers and wrapped in parma ham. Green beans, wilted little gem and new potatoes. Dessert was baked peach with tiny scoop of ice cream.
This morning I had muesly with yoghurt and banana. Lunch - tuna, lettuce, grated carrot, pasta, beetroot, cucmber and sweetcorn. Dinner tonight will be grilled steak, baked potato, purple sprouting and broccoli. Berries for dessert.
Walked for almost 2 hours and have drunt 1 1/2 L water.

Day 3

Had hot water with lime juice instead of lemon juice 1st thing. Then Benecol drink and a banana.
What Tools am I using today? EATING SLOWLY and EXERCISING
I've realised that I have all the other tools sorted and have left exercising as the last thing to get into the habit of doing regularly. When I am exercising, I enjoy it but sometimes I do get awful knee pains the next day. I really enjoy treadmill, cross trainer and Zumba but they do make my knees ache sooo much. So I am going to concentrate on the rower and instead of trying to run on the treadmill I am going to walk as fast as I can. I have a new programme of upper body exercises to help me tone my tummy, whittle away my waist and lose the fat that is around my middle.
I am trying to be patient. I had wanted to be a lot lighter by the time I went on holiday on 4th July. However, after initial disappointment, I am happy with how I look in a swimsuit compared to this time last year. I am definitely fitter and healthier too than last year.
Tried on my long black dress that I want to wear to the ball on Saturday. YIPPEE!! It fits beautifully, I look good in it and don't need magic knickers on hold the tummy in. I danced around the house with glee. Going shopping to treat myself to some eye make up and lipstick as a reward. Cant wait to see hubbys face when he sees me in the dress on Saturday. Off for a long walk in the sunshine after watering my vegetable patch.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the lovely sun.

Day 2

Couldn't sleep last night as all sorts of things were going on in my head about next week. In the end I got out of bed and read! Went back to bed around 3.30 am and I could hear the dawn chorus. Woke up at 10.30 am and listened to the mp3. Did the body brushing as recommended in my Nutritional profile before a shower. Alternating hot and cold water is also recommended to get my circulation working properly. Had a mug of hot lemon and did some deep breathing to calm myself down as I was thinking about how I am going to juggle picking son up from school (60 + miles away), drop daughter to a post GCSE party (10 miles away) and be in London to meet friends who are coming to stay for the weekend, from Geneva. I also have an IKEA king size bed being delivered in Herts. Tried to change day of delivery but DHL can only do Thursday. Why does it all have to be on the same day? Keep telling myself "IT WILL" all sort itself out - things do fall into place - but the doubt keeps creeping in. Have called neighbours and friends, they're either working or on holiday.
Had a yoghurt and banana for breakfast and Benecol drink. 2 mugs of green tea
Lunch was grilled bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes and poached eggs. Water. Snacks prepared to eat in car or when I get to kids school are plum, peach, sunflower seeds, almond and walnuts. Not that I'll eat all of that but it's nice to have a choice.
Haven't decided on dinner yet but I have fresh tuna, prawns and lots of veg in the fridge.
Thanks Pete for introducing me to deep breathing. In the past I know when under pressure I would have gone to biscuit tin or for chocolate. Have no compulsion to eat anything!!!
