At last a gym I am happy going to!!
Morning everyone
Just thought I would pop in and say that I have actually found a gym I like and the people couldnt be more helpful. I tried 2 through the doctors referall scheme, and this one I avoided as its in a huge leisure centre right in the middle of the sea front, and parking at this time of year is a nightmare, but I thought I would go along and see them, and I am so glad i did as the fitness trainers there are slightly more mature than other places and really encouraging and patient, so today I done the exercise bike, the hand bike, about 6 different weight machines working on my upper body as i have a weakness from a scoliosis of the spine, also the exercise ball for legs, a cross trainer, and a TRX which i thought was really really good, so simple yet I could really feel the muscles working, then finishing off on the exercise bike again to get my heart rate down slowly...... wow i feel really really good and at last I am so happy to say I actually enjoyed going to the gym and not dreading it. I have booked my sessions for 8 am Mondays and Wednesdays so that I can park easy and get in and out before my working day starts and it gets busy there, but I am delighted that I have actually found somewhere i am happy with, and so its proof again that if we want something bad enough, just keep doing the do and looking for somewhere that is right for us!!!
When I went for my induction there last week he told me i must increase my complex carbs if i am going to work out , so I have started eating porridge and a very small amount of wholegrain rice with lunch, and I am still cutting out bread and potatoes at my evening meal. But they were so thorough at my induction they said they are not happy taking me on as my food intake was too low for me to safely train at the gym, so I have taken their advise and introduced those carbs in small amounts.
Yeah the lady who needed walking sticks to walk, rails to help me walk around the house and help getting up out of the chair is happily working out with lots of other people and not in the slightest bit self conscious, because i know i am doing everything in my power to continue being a EXCEPTIONAL weight loss ATHELETE.
Love and hugs to you all

I love the TRX too - am thinking of getting one for when I go to Egypt. I love working out on the fitness ball too.
It's absolutely incredible to have read your journey as you go through it. It doesn't seem that long ago that you were taking short walks around your house to increase your mobility.
I take it you are wearing trousers now? Is that another milestone?
Thankyou for your lovely comment.
Yes I am wearing trousers, never ever thought it would happen in a miliion years lol , but the trainer recomended short joggers to be cooler ,a baggy tee shirt of which i have loads from when I have come down the sizes, and lace up trainers rather than velcro ones, i have my hair up in a pony tail and off i go !!!!! I havnt worn trousers of any discription for about 25 years and here walking down the busy seafront dressed like this !!!! That is the amazing journey this programme has taken me on and I am loving every single second of it all !!!!
As you say how far have i come from doing 5 minutes walking up and down my lounge just to get me moving, and even going back to the very first day I went to London to see Pete, Ed the lovely events organiser of Petes seminar so kindly went outside to count how many steps there was across from the road where i would get out of the taxi, to take me into where i would sit, as i wasnt even sure I could do that even with a walking stick!!!!!
I actually thought the TRX was such a clever but so simple piece of equipment, my trainer loves it and although its a bit scary leaning back on it as I had visions of ending up on my bottom !! I could really feel it working, he done 3 positions with me and I felt it as much as on the other conventional exercise equipment.
Thanks again for always taking the time to keep intouch with me Aleysha xxxxx
This quote that Pete has put on Weight Loss Guru -
"Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination." Fitzhugh Dodson
shows what happens if we lack direction and goals.
You've always set your goals and made the right plans to reach them and now you're moving ever nearer to your destination.
Three cheers for you and all you've done. As always, you're an inspiration.

What is a TRX machine
I must say I prefer our leisure centre to a gym group - hence why pete did to as he set the course up with him
Great you are getting the nutritional advice too, it makes more sense when they explain it like that
olympics in 2012 then!!
I miss not going to the gym now - when I dreaded it for so many years
Sue - we will be swapping trx ideas next! Kat's a big fan too - she's got one at home which I am in awe of!
You sound so full of energy. Well done. Great. Exciting.
Enjoy; have Fun.
I would loose my balance & break my neck I expect
I will if my gym has one actually
Cherub it was a bit scary with the TRX, I had visions of me ending up on my bottom with a nasty thud, but my trainer made sure it was attached to a secure door that couldnt be opened from the other side!! It was really effective and I could feel all the muscles working and it raised the heart rate too, very impressive I thought.
who ever would of thought exercise would be so much fun lol !!!!
